Valuation
What the equipment is worth, not what it is offered at
Independent value ranges for rigs, barges, production facilities and compression, so you negotiate from evidence.
Method
How we build a value range
| Factor | What we consider |
|---|---|
| 01Comparable transactions | Sales and charters of similar units, adjusted for timing and market conditions |
| 02Age and design | Build year, design generation and how they affect marketability |
| 03Condition | Stack status, survey status, maintenance records and known defects |
| 04Equipment | What is installed, what is missing and what has been upgraded |
| 05Location | Where the unit is and the cost and time to move it to your field |
| 06Cost to make ready | Repairs, recertification, class work and reactivation before first operation |
Lease or buy?
Where a unit is available for charter or lease as well as sale, we compare the options over your program: total cost, payback against expected production, and the risk each option leaves with you.
- Lease versus purchase comparison
- Payback against your production forecast
- Sensitivity to schedule and reactivation cost
Why asking prices differ from value
The same unit can be offered by several intermediaries, each adding a margin or commission. Asking prices may also ignore the cost to make the unit ready, or reflect a different market. An independent range shows you where a fair price sits and why.
